You can set up the module to not auto-advance the items but have it depend on user interactivity. To do this set the Timeout value to "0" in the module settings. This will stop the module from advancing automatically. Make sure you activate the paging controls and set it to the desired event. The module now only advances to the next item in case the user clicks or hovers over a paging element.
